Overview
MURDOKU replaces Sudoku numbers with suspects, a victim, rooms, furniture, and spatial clues. Every character must occupy a different row and column. Once all positions are fixed, the murderer is the suspect left alone with the victim in the same room or area.
The current Alpha selection screen shows 35 puzzles and five filters: Very Easy, Easy, Medium, Hard, and Expert. Case size grows from 5×5 and 6×6 introductions to 9×9 and 10×10 Hard cases, then 12×12 and 16×16 Expert scenes with more suspects and denser visual information.
The language menu currently lists 22 interface options, including English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and multiple European languages. Puzzle titles, clues, room labels, tutorial steps, tools, and submission messages change with the selected language.
An account is optional. You can stay logged out and solve cases immediately; sign-in is recommended only when you want progress to follow you across devices. The build still labels itself Alpha and warns that features may change and occasional errors may occur.
Controls

- Suspect card + short cell tap
- Select a suspect and add or remove a colored candidate letter in a grid cell
- Suspect card + long press on a cell
- Confirm that suspect's position; the tutorial says the rest of that row and column will be excluded automatically
- X, undo, hint, and submit tools
- Mark impossible cells, reverse the latest action, request help, or check the completed arrangement after everyone is placed
Before you play
- Begin with direct anchors such as a named room, chair, rug, plant, or box. A fixed location immediately eliminates every other cell in that suspect's row and column.
- Treat 'beside' precisely: the tutorial defines it as one cell directly left, right, above, or below in the same room, never diagonal and never across a room boundary.
- Use short-tap candidate notes when two or more cells are still possible. Confirm with a long press only after the row, column, room, and object clues agree.
- Do not identify the killer before the placement grid is complete. The victim's clue tells you that the murderer is the only suspect sharing the victim's room or area after every character has a valid position.
- Move up by grid size, not just by the difficulty label. A 5×5 or 6×6 case teaches the interface; 12×12 and 16×16 Expert scenes require much more careful note management.
