Overview

Capcom’s NES sequel follows Fat Cat’s escape from prison and theft of the Pharaoh’s Urn. It launched in Japan as Chip to Dale no Daisakusen 2 in 1993, followed by the North American release in 1994.

A carried object can be thrown immediately or held until it flashes. Throwing left or right at that point produces a Super-Throw. Distant switches can reward careful aim with an object or even a thrown partner.

Ranger Plaques collected within a stage can earn a Ranger Badge at the finish. Accumulating badges increases the number of hearts available. Acorns refill lost hearts, while stars award an extra chance.

Play alone as either chipmunk or choose the original two-player cooperative mode. Boxes provide ammunition and cover, bolts can be stacked into steps, and a thrown tennis ball can serve as a moving platform.

Before you play

  • Lift boxes to uncover Ranger Plaques. Their stage-end reward matters even when your current health is full.
  • For a distant switch, wait somewhere safe for the held object to flash before aiming a Super-Throw.
  • Stack bolts to reach higher platforms, and look for places where riding a thrown tennis ball can carry you across danger.
  • Check your partner’s destination before throwing them. Aim for useful platforms or switches rather than enemies and pits.
