How is 3-D Tetris different from standard Tetris?
Pieces move and rotate inside a three-dimensional well. You clear complete horizontal planes instead of flat lines.
3-D Tetris is a 1996 one-player puzzle game that replaces flat rows with pieces falling into a five-layer three-dimensional well. Game Rerun verified the live ROM startup and the basic keyboard map, but the current panel does not expose every original Virtual Boy input.
Regular play asks you to complete horizontal planes in the well. Center-Fill rewards symmetric arrangements, while Puzzle provides fixed block sequences that must form specific 3D objects.
A vertical radar represents the well's five layers and shows the falling piece's shadow. Reading that depth cue before rotating a piece is the central skill.

The game includes Regular 3-D Tetris, Center-Fill, and Puzzle modes, each with a different placement objective.
The player shows one directional pad plus A, B, Select, and Start. It does not show the original right pad or shoulder mappings, so complete keyboard play is not confirmed.
